Chicago Housing Authority Property Management

In September of 2021, HHDC was awarded a private management contract with the Chicago Housing Authority. HHDC’s award includes management of 19 senior high-rise communities totaling 3,262 housing units across 23 buildings.

Our Work with CHA

In order to undertake the management of the CHA contract, HHDC created a public housing management division. The public housing management division led by Sheri Tucker utilizes in-house qualified experienced staff who are sensitive to the economic, educational, and social needs of its tenants/clients. Properties managed by HHDC afford residents comfort and security within a hands-on participatory management style that provides residents with opportunities that instill pride and ownership in and among the community.

The addition of these public housing communities has expanded HHDC’s presence to 26 new community areas of Chicago. These areas include South Lawndale, Near West Side, West Ridge, Lincoln Park, Uptown, Lakeview, East Garfield Park, West Garfield Park, Edgewater, Pilsen, Austin, Albany Park, Avondale, Irving Park, North Park, Portage Park, Dunning, Edison Park, Jefferson Park, Lincoln Square, Montclare, Near North Side, North Center, Norwood Park, O’Hare, and Wicker Park community areas.

HHDC was previously the longest serving third party management company for the CHA managing from November 1, 1989, to October 31, 2015.
