Lissette Zarco graduated from ISU with a major in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. At ISU, she worked for the Dean of Students Office and the Campus REC. Being actively involved on campus through her sorority Gamma Phi Omega, being on the executive board of UGC, founding an RSO on campus called Minority Students for Political Change, and lobbying on behalf of the university. During her time on campus, she was instrumental in the passage of the Welcoming City Ordinance in Normal and the state funding of MAP Grants and Pell Grants for ISU.
Lissette had a very successful career in politics and government. She worked for Alderman Derrick Curtis, Comptroller Susana Mendoza, State Representative Cyril Nicolas, Speaker of the House Chris Welch, and VP Kim du Buclet at MWRD. In 2021, Lissette was Congressman Sean Casten’s Finance Director raising 1.29 million dollars in a very contested race, where Congressman Casten ultimately won his reelection.
Lissette has currently been working at Zeller for over a year as an Executive Assistant to the Founder, CEO, COO, and Principal. She is currently working toward her master's, MSRE in Real Estate at Roosevelt University. Is currently the President of the ISU Latinx Alumni Network. On September 27, 2024, was awarded the ISU Proud Young Alumni award as an embodiment to the values of the university.
