Paul Slade joined HHDC's Board of Directors in 1994, and is currently the Board Chairman and Treasurer.
Since 2005, Mr. Slade has been Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO of Old Plank Trail Community Bank, N.A. As organizing member, he was responsible for managing all aspects of this three-location community bank start-up, including site selection, regulatory approval, staffing, marketing, operations, and lending.
Prior to founding Old Plank Trail Community Bank, Mr. Slade was head of Basis Development, LLC, a real estate development company that concentrated on affordable condominium conversions in Chicago's emerging South Side neighborhoods.
From 1992 to 1999, Mr. Slade was First Vice President and Division Head of Firstar Bank Illinois, where he was responsible for the Commercial Real Estate Finance Group in the Illinois market. His responsibilities included managing a staff of seven, new business development, construction loan monitoring, and monitoring portfolio quality. Before joining Firstar, Mr. Slade worked at NBD Chicago Bank.
In addition to serving on the board of Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, Mr. Slade is also on the board of the Neighborhood Capital Institute. Previously, he served as a Director and Treasurer of Casa Central Social Services, and as a member of the Loan Committee of the Community Investment Corporation (CIC).
Mr. Slade has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Illinois State University. He also has attended the St. Xavier Graham School of Management M.B.A. Program.
