HHDC has welcomed Tony Hernandez as President and CEO. Tony brings more than 30 years of community development and financial experience to HHDC, most recently as US Head of Community Investments for CIBC US. His accomplishments at CIBC included building an investment team known for its leadership and creativity in financing Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). By taking over the helm at HHDC, Tony is returning to the non-profit sector where his career began. To lead HHDC, he will draw on his experience in non-profit, government and for-profit community development.
Tony’s other accomplishments include:
- Leading the Asset Management Department for the Illinoi Housing Development Authority.
- Managing both lending and investment portfolios as a Senior Vice President for LaSalle Bank’s community development department.
- Directing industrial retention for the non-profit Greater Pulaski-North Development Corporation.
Tony further serves the community as a board member for the Garfield Park Community Council, Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, and Full Circle Communities. He was previously on the board of the Chicago Mutual Housing Network.
