Hispanic Housing has acquired two new properties to preserve their affordability: Mallard Point Apartments and Damen Courts Apartment.
Mallard Point Apartments, in Channahon (near Joliet), is a 173-unit development that was acquired at a cost of $21,800,000. The development was acquired with assistance from The Housing Partnership Equity Trust (HPET), and is a fully-occupied development with additional land is available for development.
Damen Court Apartments in Chicago, is located just west of the United Center. This 150 unit development was acquired at a cost of $28,200,000 and includes Section 8 vouchers. This property was also acquired with the Housing Partnership Network and is being refinanced with the use of 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credits.
