As Controller, Ms. Hernandez manages the accounting and finance functions of HHDC, Tropic Construction and ACE. She joined HHDC in 1995.
She plans and directs the preparation of reports and forecasts to clearly convey the financial position of HHDC and its subsidiaries to investors, lenders, funders, and partners. Ms. Hernandez supervises senior accountants and Accounts Payable staff and is responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
She also oversees payroll for the organization and maintains functional links with other departments. Ms. Hernandez leads her team to meet all deadlines and complete a multitude of accounting and financial activities, including detailed comparative financial analyses, general ledger reconciliations, accounting for new acquisitions and refinancing, financial reporting, cash flow projections, year-end audit preparation and budget forecast and analysis. Together with Oscar Gonzalez, she also oversees the preparation of financial reports to the CHA for the management portfolio currently and formerly managed.
