Mr. Mittleman joined HHDC in 2003. He has been responsible for the acquisition of 1,900 apartment units in 12 projects at HHDC. These acquisitions utilized HUD mark-to-market debt relief, tax-exempt bonds, 4% low-income housing tax credits, and financing from the Illinois Affordable Housing Trust Fund, Cook County Department of Planning and Development, the Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program, Housing Partnership Equity Trust and CDT. In addition, these acquisitions and other projects involved almost $40 million of rehabilitation. The acquisitions resulted in total development fees of over $7 million to the organization and over $2.2 million of fees to Tropic Construction. Annual management fee on the properties acquired total almost $1.2 million.
Mr. Mittleman’s responsibilities also include asset management – the long-term physical and financial planning for HHDC’s portfolio. He has been responsible for almost one-half billion dollars of financing, including over $20 million in proceeds to HHDC. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
